At Axis Plumbers we provide a range of different Hot Water solutions. Stored Hot Water is more common place in larger homes and commercial properties. There are a number of different options when it comes to Hot Water generation. We have broken them down into five main categories:

Quooker the tap that immediately dispenses boiling . Tap on the worktop, tank underneath. You can choose between a separate boiling water tap  with accompanying mixer tap or the Quooker Flex or Fusion: a single tap for Hot Water, cold and boiling.

Solar panel Hot Water systems use solar panels, called collectors, fitted to your roof. These collect heat from the sun and use it to heat up water which is stored in a Hot Water cylinder. A boiler or immersion heater can be used as a back-up to heat the water further to reach the temperature you want

This type of Hot Water cylinder is a fantastic option as it’s space saving, energy efficient and gives outstanding performance.
These type of Hot Water cylinders rely on the mains water to provide high pressure Showers.
As long as your incoming mains pressure is good this is normally the number one choice.

Traditional Hot Water vented cylinders need a cold water storage tank to fill them and require an open vent for the expansion.
This option is normally now only used when the incoming water mains pressure is low.
Vented cylinders can be used in conjunction with pumps to boost the water mains.

Apart from the instant boiling tap these Hot Water systems come in two options, indirect and direct:

would normally be found in a property that doesn’t have gas. It doesn’t require a boiler to heat it as it uses normal two immersion heater elements.

are heated via a coil that’s connected to the Heating System.
They will normally have an immersion heater as a secondary back up.

The average labour only installation cost for an Instant Hot Water tap is around £250

This is an excellent Renewables and economic solution. By using the sun’s heat for generating our Hot Water, we reduce the amount of fossil fuels needing burning – and the associated greenhouse gas emissions generated – to supply electricity to do the same thing.

We  recommend your Hot Water cylinder is serviced annually, this keeps it within the manufacturers warranty guidelines as well as keeping your system running at optimum performance. Contact Us if you would like to arrange an annual service

On average you should expect to pay around £2000 for a Hot Water thermal store installation
